回复 :酿酒屋主人万兵卫（中村雁治郎 饰）妻子过世，育有两女文子与纪子（司叶子 饰），儿媳秋子（原节子 饰）寡居多时，公公家的亲戚好意为其牵线，但秋子似乎并未上心。相形之下，万兵卫的心态倒是颇为活跃，频频密会一度分别的老情人佐佐木，万兵卫与佐佐木的女儿百合子长大成人，可这位约会美国男友的时髦姑娘关心礼物胜过关心万兵卫是否是自己的亲生父亲……文子对父亲的行为颇为不满却又无可奈何。与纪子互有情意的青年远赴札幌工作，两人只能借书信传递挂念。儿媳与女儿的婚事一时间没有进展的希望，这时万兵卫却因心肌梗塞而晕倒，不久转醒过来的酿酒屋老板，又再次匆匆奔向情人的家中……

These two, unknowingly and unintentionally, change each other’s world for the better.
