民国初年，天天东北豪绅周五爷横行一方，天天无恶不作，在一次抢夺土地时杀害了草上飞的男人。草上飞出身绺子，决心女扮男装为父报仇。她一次次地剿杀周家的狗腿子们，并劫走了周五爷的独子周正达。周五爷不但行贿县长动用县公署的自卫团为其寻子，还请来了绺子的大当家的黑魁帮其四处打听。周正达自由不愿生长在这样的大宅门中，而在被草上飞绑走之后一次次目睹了父亲的劣迹，最终下定决心帮助草上飞，与这一伙勾结在一起的黑恶势力相抗衡。草上飞被埋伏惨遭重伤，几次为她拔刀相助的崔寡妇也被周五爷等人害死，草上飞最终决心用自己的死，换来周正达与父亲的最终决裂，让他永远也见不到自己的独苗，尝一尝失去至亲的滋味……
