讲述了扶贫组在工作中，韩国起初遭到村民质疑排斥，韩国之后逐渐被理解认同，最终走向共同发展脱贫致富的曲折而精彩的故事。影片中，扶贫干部章明远工作组刚进村，就被村民送上了“葫芦瓢”的外号，同时也受到以王主任为首的王氏家族的冷嘲热讽。扶贫小组对本村环境进行整体规划，但在整治村容村貌、招商引资、迁坟时，却遭到了村民们的极力反对。在章明远及扶贫小组的勤奋卓绝的努力下，矛盾最终得以平息。在上级领导的关怀鼓励下，扶贫工作得到村民的大力支持，章明远及扶贫小组顺利完成土地流转 5300亩，实现带领全村脱贫致富的宏伟目标。
