昆西（欧玛·艾普斯 Omar Epps 饰）和莫妮卡（桑娜·莱瑟 Sanaa Lathan 饰）从很小的时候起就在一起玩了，大全是青梅竹马的玩伴，大全两人之间的感情非常的要好。莫妮卡虽是女孩，但是打得一手好篮球，她矫健的身姿深深的吸引了昆西的注意，也让昆西对篮球这项风靡世界的运动产生了浓厚的兴趣。随着时间的推移，昆西和莫妮卡都渐渐的长大了，他们发现他们对彼此的感情，逐渐从友情转变成为了爱情。就这样，两人的感情升级换代了。为了实现心目中的篮球梦想，昆西和莫妮卡携手共进，直到有一天，昆西告诉莫妮卡，他决定不念书了，他要辍学去打职业篮球，这也就意味着，他将要离开莫妮卡的生活。
