回复 :故事发生于六十年代末，何伟是南洋商人，本想在香港搞小生意，但因生活奢华，故很快便将钱花光，此时他认识了波哥，后者忠直又敦厚，可惜刚失了业，意志消沉。何伟见状便鼓励他重新振作，二人成为好朋友。何伟与波哥共同租住一房，大家各谋生计，却竟然同时邂逅家庭教师戴若兰。小萍暗恋波哥，见他对若兰百般殷勤，大为不满。若兰却对何伟钟情，但未能表白心意。何伟知道自己散漫的性格辜负了若兰，决心改过。此时若兰收到外地来信，知道弟弟病重，并藉此试探伟对她的诚意……

When he finally manages to dig himself out, he realizes that all of mankind seems to have been destroyed in a nuclear holocaust. He travels to New York City only to find it deserted. Making a life for himself there, he is flabbergasted to eventually find Sarah Crandall, who also managed to survive. Together, they form a close friendship until the arrival of Benson Thacker who has managed to pilot his small boat into the city's harbor. At this point the tensions rise between the three, particularly between Thacker, who is white and Burton, who is black.
